FUCK YOU

As I’m sitting here this morning, listening to the birds sing, watching the dew lift from the grass, and feeling the warmth of a spring morning on my face, many deep emotions are stirring the depths of my heart and belly.

For me, when I’m facing deep pain, moments of anger become sacred expressions.

I feel deep frustration, sadness, anger, and even rage if I can be honest toward people who are only concerned with themselves.

So, the only words that I can muster right now are FUCK YOU.

Fuck you who look away when Black, Indigenous, Brown, LGBTQIA, women, children, poor, working, and middle-class people are suffering.

Fuck you who think cutting funding for programs such as SNAP, cancer research, or education, health care or mental health is helping Americans.

Fuck you to anyone who has influence, power, and uses it to harm and manipulate others.

Fuck you, pastors who act like they are preaching the word of god but only nationalism.

Fuck you who continue to support this orange, narcissistic sociopath, predator, abuser, and criminal and his administration even after all the proof and harm he has caused and continues to cause.

Fuck you who thinks spending all this money on war is a good thing.

Fuck you who look away after we bomb other countries and kill innocent people.

Fuck you who claim you are Christians but bow down to money and power.

Fuck Patriarchy,

 Fuck Christian Nationslim,

 Fuck white supremacy,

Fuck greed.

fuck racism.

Because here is what I know: if you only care about yourself, there will be a time when you will be in need. When you will need help financially, depend on that cancer research to save someone you love, or a family member bullied or struggling mentally and emotionally because they are queer or trans, or a Black friend or family member you love killed by a police officer for no other reason but for being black or brown.

And you know what else I know, those same people you ostracized and made the other and didn’t care for and took away their basic rights to live and breathe and watch their family grow up and just want to enjoy the simple pleasures like sitting in the back yard witnessing another sunrise will open their arms and heart and fight for you.

They will not say Fuck You nor would I.

They will be there to help you.

So fuck YOU.

I don’t know much about politics or what's involved.

But I do know what it means and looks like to love humanity.

 All of humanity.

I know what it looks like to follow love because Jesus laid down his life to show us.

He showed us what it looks like to love your neighbor, the sick, the widow, the poor, the immigrant, the foreigner, women, LGBTQIA, disabled, every single human being on the margins.

He showed us what it looks like to love yourself and others.

Remember, the day will come when you need help, so sit in your discomfort and take a hard look in the mirror because you can’t say you love someone and at the same time vote and support a president and an administration who continues to harm the very same people you say you love.

That is not love.

Sitting in our discomfort and looking deep within ourselves is holy work. It's part of the healing journey. It's what it means to love yourself and others. You can't truly know love until you learn to heal, love, and forgive yourself and heal from all the toxic messages we were given, the generational trauma, and your own trauma.

The work is hard.

 It’s painful

It's worth it.

It's Holy.

and It's love.
